PRE APPOINTMENT INFORMATION

Before your treatment
  • You must have had prior treatment or consultation before your appointment.
  • Avoid sun exposure 2 weeks prior to your treatment. If you are sunburnt, we may not be able to proceed with treatment.
  • Do not use self tanners (including gradual tan lotions). 
  • You must not have waxed, threaded or tweezed the treatment area in the last 7 days. 
  • Cease using products such as depilatory creams or bleach hair in the treatment area 7 days prior. 
  • Must not have had electrolysis in the treatment area. 
  • Do not take inflammatory medicine (including ibuprofen and aspirin) 48 hours prior to treatment. 
  • Must not have smoked, or consumed alcohol 4 hours before treatment.
  • Cease using products that include: Glycolic acid, Salicylic acid, Retin-A® as this could irritate the skin at least 4 days prior. 
  • Must not have have had any botox 2 weeks prior, and no dermal filler 4-6 weeks prior to treatment.

AFTER CARE INFORMATION

After your treatment, you may experience the following:

  • After your treatment, the treated area may feel warm, tingly, itchy, or slightly sensitive for up to 24 hours after. 
  • Pigment darkening and rising to the surfaces
  • Flaking pigmentation
  • Note: Redness, swelling, peeling or sensitivity duration varies by patient and treatment aggressiveness.

Recommended products post treatment

  • SPF - This is non negotiable!
  • Dark Spot Eraser (Highly recommended as this is a pigmentation inhibitor)

OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS

  • Gently cleanse around the area and pat dry with clean tissue / towel. 
  • Avoid wearing makeup on the treated area for up to 48 hours. 
  • Do not take hot showers, baths, or saunas for 24 hours.
  • Do not scratch or pick the treated area.
  • Avoid the application of perfumed products or bleaching creams for 48 hours. 
  • Avoid exercise, swimming and alcohol consumption for the next 24 hours.

OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS

You may experience the following
  • Any scabs, crusting or darkening of pigment that could develop during treatment may take anywhere from 3 - 14 days to drop off.
